Annapurna Interactive confirmed that their top-down time-loop thriller Twelve Minutes will be making its way to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, with the announcement being released alongside a new trailer and high-res images. The award-nominated title will arrive on December 7 and arrive on the Switch in Europe on December 21.
Twelve Minutes debuted on Steam as well as Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox Game Pass back in August. The thriller was created by Luis Antonio and published by Annapurna Interactive. The player finds themselves in control of a man who is stuck in a time loop of a home invasion with his wife. He gathers new information with each loop in an attempt to escape, possibly doing terrible things along the way.
The game is bolstered by a star-studded cast as the three lead characters with James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe, playing The Husband, The Wife, and The Intruder, respectively. The new images that were released along with the announcement put these characters on full display, giving them a stylish, high-res poster treatment.
The brand new trailer showcases the accolades that the game has received since its release back in August. These include a nomination at the first games award at the Tribeca Festival earlier this year as well as a Best Storytelling nomination at the Golden Joystick Awards and a recent nomination for Best Independent Game at the Game Awards. There are also a series of quotes from multiple publications singing the game's praises. Collider's Dave Trumbore said in his review of the game that it was "equally fascinating and frustrating," saying that it is an "experience that's absolutely worth your time, attention, and hard-earned dollars."
